Zolstice + Ex Ref

Okay, these are now friends-only because I keep getting notes from people asking about making these.



FIGURE 1
The Zol's all have large, stiff hairs on the back of their necks.
The hairs are used for communication between the pack members and can be raised or lowered. The bright hair colors actually comes from blood vessels running through their thick hair strands. Each strand in the neck can have blood forced through it to help signal another pack member. This brings out the bright coloration.
Zol's do not have eyes. Though the bright colors are very pretty, Zol's 'see' by heat signatures of the blood in the hair strands. If you were to touch their mane, it would be hot; which allows them to survive in the cold winters of Angius Nex.

Shoulder markings-
Are used to identify the different Zols. Each one has a man-made markings, usually a short phrase or symbol that the Zol is named after.
Example: This Zolstice's name is 'Ex', so he has an 'X' on his shoulder.

For a Zol to open it's mouth, it must manually unzip it using it's fingers. This can get very irritating at times.

The Zol's zipper mouths are NOT natural. They are added onto their mouths after they are born, but they grow with the Zol.
They're made out of a semi-natural, flexible material created by RAVN.

The Zol's pawpads are very thick and soft, great for running around on sharp pavement and perfect for silently stalking their prey.
The color usually matches that of the hair strands/blood, but not always.

The claws are not actually claws at all. They are actually thin fingers covered by tiny, plated layers of skin, making them flexible enough to pick up things but strong enough to slice through flesh.

FIGURE 7
Zol's tails are another important communication tool. They can pump blood through them just like their manes, but the blood tends to only emerge in certian patterns. This helps for other Zols to identify them by the marks or makeup of the heat signature emitting from their tails.
Their tails are also very muscular and can be used like a fifth hand, and can even allow the Zol to blance on it, as pictured here.

When Zols unzip their mouths, they reveal a rather disturbing digestive track.
The only thing a Zolstice cannot throw up from it's mouth is it's heart and stomach.
It's intestines make up 70 percent of it's body cavity.
The innards are usually used to scare enemies or confuse someone into thinking it's dead.
The Zols are very creative when it comes to it's 'innard vomiting' technique, and are always finding new ways to use it.

Their tongues are very long and can vary in patterns and color, but always stay within some sort of shade of their blood color.
Zols can pick up things with their tongues as well, and don't fail to tease their owners with it, being devious in nature.

But just a little more info so bear with me.

+Their zippers start out clear, like plastic, when they are first 'installed' on a Zol. As they grow older, the color become more visiable as more blood begins to flow into it

+Zols are loyal to their RAVN owners, so even if a Zol is born in the streets, the parents will bring it back to be raised by RAVN. This prevents Zols from breeding and creating their own population outside of RAVN control

+Their markings can vary and be practically any color, but their MAIN fur color is always some sort of shade of grey
