Something Is Still Here

Anyone remember Schizo? She's still a thing.
Kore dragons are an old, old creation of mine. Despite their lack of natural appearance and obviously-created-by-a-child designs I still really love them. They have fish faces.

This is the finished product of a couple-month-old doodle that I started on a whim. Sometimes I get these urges to draw illustrations for my story that I don't remember ever really detailing in my mind, and later I'll begin to form a new idea or story around. This was one of those muse pieces.

Anyway, the concept that formed behind this picture is that the forests around the polluted cities on Nex (I shorted the planet's name, formally Angius Nex) are caught in a state of being unable to pollinate or produce fruits or leaves, and can only grow by sucking the life out of surrounding flora. Essentially, they are zombie forests.
The chemicals the trees have absorbed also caused them to release semi-toxic fumes through their roots. Pressure builds up under the tree or in areas of weakness in the soil, releasing plumes of the toxin in either pulsating geysers or slow leaks around the base of the tree.

On a final note: lol I am terrible at making backgrounds look okay without drowning it in texture
